Rooms That Work, Rooms That WOW! is the name of a workshop that I offer regularly in Santa Fe.  I want to share with you a great tool that I always share with workshop attendees.

Ask yourself the following 10 QUESTIONS for each room in your home:

If you answer YES to any questions congratulate yourself!  You’ve got a great start on bringing good design and personal inspiration to your home. 

If you answer NO to any questions re-evaluate these areas and contemplate what simple changes would lead you to absolutely loving being in that room.  We’ve seen some real clarity come forth during my workshops and I hope you gain inspiration, too.

does it work? yes or no

1.  Is the room clutter free?
2.  Are the furniture choices right?
3.  Is the furniture arrangement functional?
4.  Is a focal point emphasized?
5.  Is there sufficient lighting?

does it wow! yes or no

6.  Does it have the feeling you want?
7.  Do you love the colors?
8.  Are the art and accessories personal and interesting?
9.  Have you incorporated design principles, an element of surprise, or taken a risk?
10. Does this room get compliments or comments?

Whether you are happy with your existing furnishings and accessories, or want ideas for new choices, working through this checklist will help you to decorate your home with confidence and create a look that says ‘you’.
